Hard to fathom that this is still an issue, this long after my own parents married in 1950, well before Loving. Incredible that an entire global society of billions of people could be so deeply hypnotized by a fake construct. It has surely worked far and away beyond the wildest hopes of its early proponents. I can think of little else that is so evidently false and destructive, other than the age-old oppression of women that engulfs our planet, and plagues what we often hear referred to as “civilization.” Perhaps “original sin” may be the single thing that is worse, in that it spawned those two societal self-destruct mechanisms and many more. I’m afraid that the sociopolitical and economic infrastructure built around those issues cannot be undone without unraveling the very fabric of the way the global society has come to be shaped today. Humankind needs a do-over. That may well be in the offing even as we’re reading this.
