Loved the post. So, perhaps coincidentally, I was going through my late mother's files a few days ago, and came across a transcript of a CBS REPORTS one-hour broadcast, April 22, 1975, "The IQ Myth." My wife and I had already begun raising our children by that date. American sociologist C. Wright Mills (1959) referred to the point of reckoning as “the intersection of biography and history” where personal private matters connect or correlate to broader social-historical conditions. The point of reckoning today is not whether racially corellative IQ is a myth, or whether we can present cogent (even brilliant) arguments one way or the other. The point of reckoning should be why we still need to, and why we've had to for centuries. "Racism" is an overly simplistic answer--but I've subscribed, and I'll look forward to where you'll go with it from here.
