Well, yes he did — sort of.
#ElonMusk has eliminated all Twitter #ERGs, but the employees are still there. The ERGs #Blackbirds and #TwitterWomen weren’t all fired. They were only decommissioned as an internally officially sanctioned group of employees.
So I’m seeing it reported on #Twitter and #LinkedIn. All the agonizing heartwrenching, handwringing!!! Is this the end? Is the big signal that DEI is finally over? Will he reverse himself? Who knows! One thing is certain. What happens with TwitterWomen and Blackbirds from here is up to those remaining employees after the purge, not Elon Musk. Why so?
I’ve been reading some of the lamentations on the Wailing Wall of Social Media. At first, I was shocked (a wee bit) and saddened by the cries of desperation over what to do now. Then, I realized they hadn’t been fired, and I had to ask myself:
“Does anyone need permission and a group name to associate with and help one another in any organization?”
I don’t know what the ERGs did to the employees at Twitter to make them feel that way, a dependency that would lead anyone to believe they could work in the same office, building, and company and be unable to associate with or support their fellow employees.
