My chiropractor explained a little about this paradox almost 20 years ago, particularly the statin association (or lack thereof) with improved health and risk of stroke. The broad medical guidelines are often a one-size-fits all approach, bell curve kind of of approach, so each of us should get as much info about managing our own health as is possible when making lifestyle decisions. I greatly respect the medical community, and also respect the researchers who understand the numbers and are willing to step out and tell the whole story and the tails of the curve. Thanks for publishing this.
