The results included colonialism, the establisment of the prototype of race as skin color on the Iberian Peninsula, a full 100 years of military conquest, genocide, deadly plague, catastrophic cultural devastation, and transatlantic slave trade in South America that dwarfed what was done in North America from 1619 onward, and it is still embedded in American Law, in addition to law on six continents.
